Running Update
Aug. 2nd, 2010 01:59 pm10 miles: Check.
I just finished running for 2 hours, 3 minutes, and 45 seconds, which should be just slightly over 10 miles plus or minus a bit. I actually felt pretty good on the last lap (I have a loop that I run which is about 1.25 miles, so I ran 8 laps today) and ended up picking up the pace a bit. If I hadn't done that I'm pretty sure I could have done at least another lap or two. Again this is after a slightly rough start--mostly due to issues keeping my heart rate down rather than muscle soreness. After the first couple laps, though, everything calmed down and went just fine.
Next week: 11 miles. The week after that is 12 miles and then I start tapering down before the race.
