Currently I have two ongoing fitness bets. To do 1500 situps or ab type exercises a week and to lose 20 pounds by SiliCon. I consider these to be mutually beneficial to each other. Losing weight makes situps easier and situps help one to lose weight. Win win, assuming I can get to the gym enough times in a given week.

I think that is my biggest failing as a wanttobe fit person. I find excuses why "today" is not a good day to go to the gym. I'm getting a late start, I missed breakfast, I forgot my combo lock, works been really hard and I "need" a double cheese burger darnit!

Intellectually I know I'll feel better if I go to the gym. I'll get those endorphines going. I won't feel guilty about my ever expanding waist line. Etc etc.

Got to work on my self discipline, so here I go again, down the only road I know...

I know EXACTLY what you mean! I use all those same excuses myself and I am trying to get myself more motivated to "just do it".

Good luck on your endeavors, amigo!

Tip, because I'm a total Potato and know of what you speak.
If you're making excuses, go to the gym, go to the locker room, and sit down. Stretch a bit. Chat with people coming in and out. Surround yourself with people who are already energized to do it, or energized from coming back from it. I find that if I just get my ass in the door, I will soon motivate enough to change clothes and get out there.
