So, I'm going to start the 100 pushups challenge this week, after waiting over a month for my right upper arm to heal from being injured.
I'll do the initial test tonight, and see how many I can do.  I'll do knee pushups initially, but I'm going to change my usual form to the ergonomically better one presented on the site (crossed knee) to lessen the chance of my cheating/getting injured.

I'll post results of the test here, then results of the actual program as I perform it.
Hm, come to think of it, I don't really track how many pull-over crunches I do, I should track that, too.

Someone want to do this program with me? I'm going to start pretty slow, as it took me a LONG time to come back to a full range of motion.

While I did check it out, I think I'm going to pass. I've been doing push ups after running and am up to 30-35 in a row now, but that puts me in a really weird place with their program. I think I'll just continue trying to increase my count by 5 every other week.

Does it work at all to do the bench or even wall variations that the site suggests, just to condition the other muscles around the injury? Or not? Gods know I'll never encourage someone to "just work through" pain.

It might work. I'm going to consult with a trainer who can help me do everything correctly.

I'd think about doing this with you. I want to get back to my goal of advancing through the levels of Air Force physical fitness tests. But I want to do "real" push-ups, which means I'm starting ass-slow.

Let me know how you do with the initial test. I'll try to remember to take mine too.

Oddly enough, I've always found slow pushups to be a lot harder than fast ones. Unless you're talking about the rate you'd be increasing the total number of pushups done. In which case, nevermind.

I used to do 20 Hindi push ups as part of my fencing class a few years back. It's the one with your butt in air, arms and legs spread wider than the shoulders, and then you kind of dive into the push up arcing your back to look up at the sky. Diffucult with breasts in the way.

I'd be interested in doing it with you.
